“Heldscalla” is an hypnotic audio/visual route through images and sound, by Persus Nine.
Due to the heavy mirroring and manipulation of the original video footage, the eye perceives bits of familiar elements, yet deconstructed and sawn back together in an unusual, unsettling way.
Organic elements, landscapes, body parts and nature, all of them are turned into blocks, to rebuild unnatural spaces and surreal textures.
Like the ancient sunken cathedral from which it takes its name, the piece lays on the floor of a deep ocean of inscrutability, mysterious and dangerous to those who dive in it.
This short preview condensates some of the elements that are found in the full 30 min performance.
